History
ULTIMedia designs, manufactures and markets a global offer of
interactive terminals and information screens, and offers a wide
range of complementary services from the secured Internet browser
to accessories dedicated to interactive technologies and other
terminal application software.
It would seem that there is only one step from the architecture
to the interactive terminals, the step taken by Eric Dumouchel,
(Creator of ULTIMedia), a man with a personality bubbling with
activity and teeming with ideas. Architect and designer, he has
an impressive record of achievements, thanks to his talent, his
training (ENSAD and ESAG) and his energy, his creativity, his
sense of what is functional and the control of the industrial
process. In 1987, he founded his agency as an architect, the ED
agency.
With a passion for new technologies and encouraged by an incredible
ability to create and generate ideas, he takes an interest in
“everything that is in the forefront, especially new computer
technologies, everything that stimulates the spirit without ever
cutting off ties with reality”. It is therefore perfectly
natural that he has used interactive technologies since 1987 to
present his architectural projects, together with the hyper-realist
3D virtual animations, which at that time were pioneering tools.
Around 1990 Eric Dumouchel found himself entrusted with the development
of a variable-geometry mobile unit containing the first interactive
touch screens. He devised a ready-made solution for this 12 meter-long
mobile unit (80 square meters, spread out), which in a way was
his first giant terminal...
Eric Dumouchel makes a point of never separating what is functional
from what is aesthetic, but rather of blending both concepts through
action, a challenge he met with ULTIMedia, which he created in
1997. The Davos week is symbolic in the history of ULTIMedia.
Some 100 terminals are arranged in the station for the spectacular
brainstorming organized by the World Economic Forum (WEF).
This will be the beginning of the establishment of an ever-increasing
position worldwide.

Strategy
In an endeavour to distance itself
from its competitors, ULTIMedia bases its strategy on “the
function of the object in correlation with the environment”.
A unique concept that has enabled it to develop the widest range
of interactive terminals in the world. Today the company offers
a choice of over 70 unique, exclusive models, most of which are
available in stock. Whether for indoor or outdoor use, compact
or more High-Tech, the ULTIMedia interactive terminal combines
design, aestheticism and quality, never losing sight of the demands
of this century. If the customer fails to find his or her solution
in the 70 models offered, one will be made to order, with the
incomparable skills and experience of ULTIMedia.
Multidisciplinary approach:
ULTIMedia is the conductor of
the interactive strategy, with a mastery of furniture design and
manufacturing tools, but also, and above all, of the on-board
components and software content. ULTIMedia accompanies its customers,
the Corporate Customers and local groups, in an endeavour to make
their information systems more dynamic, in all the phases of development
of their projects, thanks to a full range of services:
Upstream of the project, the ULTIMedia designers, IT and electronic
communication specialists carry out an assessment of the needs
and establish the specifications. Thus, in addition to the standard
range available in stock, made-to-order solutions can be developed
and adapted to each context and each customer.
The terminals must be available on a permanent basis and they
must be easy to implement. For these reasons ULTIMedia provides
an exemplary offer of deployment and maintenance.
Every year for over 10 years, ULTIMedia, has been making substantial
investments in the research and development of innovative solutions
in the spheres affected by the most advanced interactive technologies.
We were the first to considerably reduce the volume and size of
our interactive terminals and produce slim-design models.
Our tests and research are carried out in our studies office,
in a constant endeavour to improve performance, both for new technical
printers, specialized terminals and new interactive terminal models,
new means of security, new closing systems, etc.
ULTIMedia is backed by a total quality policy, from the design
stage to the actual implementation. (see Quality section)
Our team guarantees responsible and devoted cooperation for a
single purpose: the success of your project.
Our latest-generation of digital media (both in design and manufacture)
enable us to offer you high responsiveness and unfailing reliability
within the framework of a specific development.
